CHANGE IN LEADERSHIP AT THE NASHVILLE CHESS CENTER

 

On September 17, 2024, the Board of Directors of the Nashville Chess Center (NCC) accepted the resignation submitted by FM Todd Andrews, who led the Nashville Chess Center for 18 years.  

We thank FM Andrews, known by many as Coach Todd, for the many years that he devoted to the NCC. Because of him, the NCC is the heart of chess in Middle Tennessee. It would have been impossible to establish, grow, and sustain the NCC without him. Coach Todd touched many lives through his work at the NCC, leaving a lasting, positive impact. He will always be uniquely special to the Nashville chess community.

 

Aaron Caveny has taken the position of Interim Executive Director of the Nashville Chess Center. Aaron has been Assistant Director of the Nashville Chess Center since January 1, 2023, when his passion for chess led him to pursue a career change, leaving a managerial post with Sherwin Williams. He has been a valuable member of our Nashville chess community for almost a decade. His skills and dedication to the NCC are beyond question. The Board is confident that Aaron is the right person to lead the NCC during the transition period that our club has just started.
